HOW DOES THE NISSAN LEAF WORK?
The Nissan LEAF is an all-electric vehicle and gets the energy it needs to drive the electric motor mounted between its front wheels from the large lithium-ion battery mounted along the floor of the car. Charging is a simple as charging your cell phone: plug it in, and let it go.
HOW DO YOU CHARGE YOUR NISSAN LEAF?
Charging the 2022 Nissan LEAF is easy whether you’re at home or on the go. You can connect and charge your Nissan LEAF in four quick and easy steps.
- Park and make sure the car is turned off.
- Open the charge port lid and cap.
- Plug the charge connector into the charge port. When done correctly, the Nissan LEAF lets you know with a quick beep.
- When the battery reaches full, the Nissan LEAF stops charging on its own. To end charging at any point, just unplug the charge connector.
240V - Home and public charging
CHARGE, ALMOST ANYWHERE
With 30,000 Level 2 public chargers in the U.S. and at home charging using a 240V outlet and the available Portable Charging Cable finding the where to charge is as easy as the how to charge. And with Nissan's partnership with Amazon a home charger and installation assistance is just clicks away.
480V – Public DC Quick Charging
CHARGE - IN A FLASH
The fastest way to charge. With tens of thousands of public DC Quick Charging stations across the country, you have an impressive number of locations to top off at while on longer drives.
120V - Standard outlet
PLUG IT
Need a charge while in a pinch? The Nissan LEAF features a standard 120V charging cable, which allows you to temporarily plug into a standard 120V outlet for a Level 1 charge. It's the slowest option, but it lets you add some range almost anywhere you have access to electricity.
